Enabling the Stalled Checkout Automation

To start recovering stalled checkouts, you first need to enable the Stalled Checkout automation:

  1. Navigate to App Station and select Monetization.

  2. Click on Growth Automations.

  3. Toggle the Stalled Checkout option to enable it.

Tip: Make sure you are on the Growth plan to access this feature.

Choosing the Delay

You can set a delay for how long after a checkout is stalled before the retargeting email is sent. The available options are:

  • 1 hour

  • 4 hours

  • 12 hours

  • 24 hours

  • 48 hours

Select the delay that best fits your strategy for engaging potential subscribers.

Customizing the Email Template

The email sent to recover stalled checkouts can be customized to reflect your brand and engage your audience. You can use the following variables in your email template:

  • {{appName}}: Your app's name

  • {{firstName}}: The first name of the prospect, or "there" if unknown

  • {{offerName}}: The name of the offer associated with the checkout

To customize the email template:

  1. In the Growth Automations section, find the email template settings.

  2. Edit the subject line and body to include the variables as needed.

Sending a Test Email

Before going live with your automation, it's a good idea to send a test email to ensure everything looks right:

  1. In the Growth Automations settings, look for the option to send a test email.

  2. Enter your email address and click Send Test Email.

This allows you to see how the email will appear to your prospects.

Viewing Sent and Conversion Stats

After your automation has been running, you can track its performance:

  1. Go to the Growth Automations section.

  2. Look for the statistics related to sent emails and conversions.

  3. Analyze the data to understand how effective your retargeting efforts are.

Integrating with Zapier, Kit, and Klaviyo

The Stalled Checkout automation can also trigger events in external services like Zapier, Kit, and Klaviyo:

  • Zapier: Use the growth.checkout_abandoned trigger to initiate workflows based on abandoned checkouts.

  • Kit/Klaviyo: Map the Checkout abandoned event to specific tags or lists to segment your audience effectively.

For more information on setting up these integrations, refer to the Zapier Integration article.
