Adding Photos and Videos to Recipes

Why: Enhance your recipes with engaging photos and videos to attract and retain subscribers. Visual content helps your members better understand your recipes and improves their overall experience.

Navigate: App Station > Content Library > Recipes > [Recipe] > Media section

Quick Start

  1. Click the Media section in the recipe editor.

  2. Click Upload Video to upload a video directly or Embed Video to add an external video.

  3. For direct uploads, select your video file and confirm the upload.

  4. For embedded videos, paste the embed code from platforms like YouTube or Vimeo.

  5. Click Save to store your changes.


Uploading Videos Directly

You can upload videos directly to your recipes. This method allows you to bypass size limits imposed by some platforms, making it easier to share high-quality content.

Supported Formats and Size Limits

  • Video Formats: Common formats like MP4, MOV, and AVI are supported.

  • File Size Limit: Ensure your video file is under 500MB for successful uploads.

Steps to Upload

  1. In the Media section of your recipe, click Upload Video.

  2. Select the video file from your device.

  3. Wait for the upload to complete. A thumbnail will be generated automatically once the video is processed.

Embedding External Videos

If you prefer to use videos hosted on platforms like YouTube or Vimeo, you can easily embed them into your recipes.

Steps to Embed

  1. Click Embed Video in the Media section.

  2. Paste the embed code from the video platform into the provided field.

  3. Optionally, add alt text for accessibility.

  4. Click Save to finalize your changes.

Supported Platforms

You can embed videos from:

  • YouTube

  • Vimeo

  • Wistia

Make sure the embed code is valid and does not exceed 10,000 characters.

Managing Your Recipe Media

Deleting Videos

To remove a video from a recipe:

  1. Navigate to the Media section of the recipe.

  2. Find the video you want to delete.

  3. Click the Delete button next to the video.

This action will remove the video from your recipe and delete it from the hosting service.

Troubleshooting Video Issues

  • Video not displaying: Ensure the video has finished processing. Refresh the page to check.

  • Embed code not working: Double-check the embed code for any errors or unsupported tags.
