Discovering Content
Members can easily find content in your app through various methods:
Search
Members can use the search bar to quickly find recipes, meal plans, or resources by entering keywords. This allows them to locate specific content without scrolling through lists.
Collections
Collections are curated groups of content that members can browse. You can create collections based on themes, meal types, or dietary needs, making it easier for members to discover new favorites.
Filters
Members can apply filters to narrow down their search results. They can filter by dietary preferences, cuisine types, or specific ingredients, helping them find exactly what they need.
Saving Favorites and Creating Personal Lists
Members can bookmark their favorite recipes and resources for easy access later. They can do this by clicking the heart icon on any content item. All their favorites are stored in a dedicated "My Favorites" page.
Additionally, members can create custom lists to organize content. For example, they might create a list for "Weeknight Dinners" or "Healthy Snacks." These lists are private and can be managed easily from their profile.
Rating and Commenting on Recipes
Members can rate recipes on a 5-star scale. They can provide feedback text for ratings of 2 stars or lower, while higher ratings allow for optional feedback. This helps improve content quality and provides social proof for other members.
When members rate a recipe with 4 or 5 stars, they have the option to publish their feedback as a public comment, which can be seen by all users. This encourages engagement and community interaction.
Following Meal Plans and Generating Shopping Lists
Members can follow meal plans that guide them through a week of meals. Each meal plan includes recipes that are automatically scaled based on the number of servings they choose.
From these meal plans, members can generate shopping lists that include all the ingredients needed. The shopping list is organized by grocery aisle, making it easier for members to shop efficiently.
Using Cooking Mode for Step-by-Step Cooking
Cooking Mode provides a full-screen, distraction-free experience for members while they cook. It allows them to navigate through recipe steps one at a time, with features like:
Step-by-step navigation using swipe gestures or keyboard arrows.
Full-screen display for each step, including images and videos.
Inline ingredients that adjust based on the selected serving size.
A quick ingredient reference drawer that slides in for easy access.
A wake lock feature that keeps the screen awake during cooking.
Setting Personal Preferences
Members can customize their experience by setting personal preferences, including:
Measurement system: Members can choose between metric and imperial units.
Dietary restrictions: They can specify allergens and dietary preferences, ensuring that recipes shown to them are safe and suitable.
Cuisine preferences: Members can select their favorite cuisines to boost relevant recipes in search results.
Installing the App on Their Phone
Members can install the app on their mobile devices for easy access. They can do this by visiting the app in their mobile browser and following the prompts to add it to their home screen. This creates a convenient shortcut for accessing your content anytime.
