Understanding Access Levels
Access levels are essential for managing what content your members can access. They allow you to create a structured approach to content visibility, ensuring that only the right members see specific materials.
Key Features of Access Levels
Control Content Visibility: Define which content is accessible to members based on their access level.
Public vs. Members-Only Content: Content without restrictions is public, while content with access levels is only visible to members who meet the criteria.
Custom Levels: You can create custom access levels (e.g., "Silver", "Gold", "VIP") to cater to different subscriber needs.
Grants All Content: An access level can be set to grant access to all content, bypassing restrictions.
Content Creation Permissions
You can also control whether members can create or modify content:
Allow Meal Plans: Enable members to create their own meal plans.
Allow Recipes: Enable members to create their own recipes.
Modify Existing Content: Allow members to customize meal plans and recipes.
Managing Access Levels
To manage access levels effectively:
Create Access Levels: Use the Add Access Level button to create new levels.
Edit Existing Levels: Click on an access level to modify its name, description, or permissions.
Delete Levels: You can delete custom access levels, but the default "All Access" level cannot be removed.
Assigning Content to Access Levels
You can assign content to specific access levels in two primary ways:
From the Content Editor: When creating or editing a recipe, meal plan, or resource, you can select which access levels are required for viewing.
From the Access Level Management Page: Navigate to the access levels page, click on the content count, and manage content assignments in bulk.
Offers and Access Levels
Access levels work in conjunction with offers. Each offer can grant one or more access levels, allowing you to control how members gain access to content.
Subscription Offers: These can provide recurring access based on the member's subscription status.
One-Time Offers: These can grant access for a limited time or as a one-time purchase.
Important Considerations
Admins Always Have Access: Regardless of access level settings, you as the admin will always have access to all content.
Direct Access Grants: You can grant specific members access to content directly, overriding standard access level restrictions.
