Overview of Social Sharing

The social sharing feature allows you to share your content on various social networks with customizable templates and rich previews. This functionality is designed to help you promote your recipes, meal plans, and blog posts effectively.

Key Features

  • Native Mobile Sharing: On mobile devices, the app uses the native share functionality, allowing integration with installed apps like Messages and WhatsApp.

  • Desktop Sharing Modal: On desktop, a custom sharing modal appears with buttons for each social network.

  • Instagram Workflow: A special workflow allows users to copy captions and download images for sharing on Instagram.

  • Open Graph Previews: Automatically generated meta tags ensure your content looks great when shared.

  • Customizable Templates: You can set up share text templates that include placeholders for dynamic content.

Configuring Social Sharing

Accessing Settings

To configure social sharing options, navigate to App Station > Settings > Social Sharing. Here, you can manage various settings:

  1. Default Share Image: Upload an image that will be used when content lacks a cover image. A recommended size is 1200x630 pixels.

  2. Share Text Templates: Customize the text that appears when your content is shared. You can set default text as well as specific templates for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Use placeholders like {title}, {url}, and {appName} to personalize your messages.

Supported Social Networks

You can choose which social networks will be available for sharing. The default options include:

  • Twitter

  • Facebook

  • Pinterest

  • Instagram

  • Email

The Instagram sharing process is unique. When sharing to Instagram, users can copy a caption and download an image, which they can then use to create a post. This workflow is specifically designed for desktop users who may not have access to the native sharing options.
