Navigate: App Station > Monetization > Gifting
Quick Start
Click on Gifting in the Monetization section of App Station.
Configure your gift email template to personalize the welcome message for recipients.
Create promotional cards to encourage gifting within your app content.
Share the gift subscription link with your members.
Monitor gift purchases and recipient subscriptions through the gifting dashboard.
How Gift Subscriptions Work
The gift subscription system allows your members to purchase subscriptions or one-time access for others. Here’s how it works:
Gifter Purchases: A member (the gifter) makes a one-time payment for the first subscription period.
Recipient Gets Subscription: A new subscription is created for the recipient, which includes a trial period equal to the billing interval (e.g., one month for monthly subscriptions).
Automatic Account Creation: If the recipient does not already have an account, one will be automatically created for them.
Payment Method Requirement: Before the trial period ends, the recipient must add their own payment method to continue their subscription.
Gift Welcome Emails: Recipients receive a customizable welcome email that includes a personal message from the gifter.
Customizing Gift Emails
You can personalize the welcome email that recipients receive when they are gifted a subscription. This email can include:
A subject line of your choice
A greeting message
Main body content explaining the gift
A footer message
Make sure to set up your email template in the Gifting section of App Station.
Promotional Cards
To promote gifting within your app, you can create promotional cards that appear in your content blocks. These cards can include:
A title and subtitle
A call-to-action button
A link to the gifting page
You can configure how often these promo cards appear in your content, choosing from heavy, medium, light, or off settings.
Managing Gift Subscriptions
As an admin, you can track all gift purchases made through your app. This includes:
Viewing gifts given and received by users
Monitoring the status of gift subscriptions
Accessing details about each gift purchase
This information is available in the gifting dashboard within App Station.
Payment Method Prompt
When a recipient has a gifted subscription, they will be prompted to add a payment method before their trial ends. The prompt will provide context about the gift and the need for a payment method to continue enjoying the subscription.
