Why: Allowing your members to set their preferences for measurement systems, allergens, and dietary restrictions enhances their experience and ensures they receive personalized content that fits their needs.
Navigate: App Station > App Settings > Member Preferences
Quick Start
Click on the App Settings tab in App Station.
Select Member Preferences from the menu.
Configure the available measurement systems (metric or imperial).
Set the allergen options for members to exclude from their recipes.
Define dietary preferences and restrictions that members can choose from.
Overview of Member Preferences
Members can personalize their experience by setting preferences that affect how recipes and meal plans are displayed. These preferences include:
Measurement System: Members can choose between metric and imperial units.
Allergen Exclusions: Members can specify allergens to avoid, ensuring recipes do not contain these ingredients.
Dietary Preferences: Members can select dietary preferences that influence recipe recommendations.
Measurement System
Members can set their preferred measurement system in their profile settings. This preference allows the app to convert and display ingredient amounts accordingly.
Options:
Metric: Uses grams, liters, etc.
Imperial: Uses ounces, pounds, etc.
Members can switch between these systems at any time, and the app will instantly update all displayed amounts without altering the original recipe data.
Allergen Exclusions
Members can specify allergens they want to avoid. This feature is crucial for safety, as it completely hides recipes containing any excluded allergens. The system supports the following major allergens:
Milk
Eggs
Fish
Shellfish
Tree Nuts
Peanuts
Wheat
Soybeans
Sesame
Configuration:
As an admin, you can configure which allergens are available for members to select. This ensures that members can effectively manage their dietary needs.
Dietary Preferences
Members can also set dietary preferences that influence the types of recipes they see. These preferences can be configured to either boost recipes that match their dietary choices or filter out those that do not.
Modes:
Boost: Recipes that match the selected dietary preferences rank higher in search results.
Filter: Only recipes with matching dietary tags are shown.
Available Dietary Tags:
You can define various dietary tags such as Vegan, Vegetarian, Keto, and Paleo, allowing members to tailor their experience based on their dietary needs.
Disliked Ingredients
Members can indicate ingredients they dislike, which can either deprioritize or completely hide recipes containing those ingredients.
Modes:
Deprioritize: Recipes with disliked ingredients rank lower in search results.
Hide: Recipes with disliked ingredients are completely hidden.
Default Filters
Admins can set default values for search filters that members can adjust. These include:
Default Servings: The number of servings for recipes.
Max Prep Time: The maximum time members are willing to spend preparing a recipe.
Max Cook Time: The maximum time members are willing to spend cooking a recipe.
By configuring these options, you help streamline the recipe search process for your members, making it easier for them to find suitable recipes quickly.
