Understanding Recipe Search
The recipe search system allows your members to find recipes quickly and efficiently using various filters and search options. Here’s how it works:
Searchable Fields
Members can search for recipes based on:
Keywords: Any word in the recipe title, summary, or ingredients.
Tags: Specific labels that categorize recipes (e.g., "vegan", "quick meals").
Nutritional Values: Filters for calories, fat, carbs, protein, and more.
Filter Options
Members can refine their search results using several filters:
Ingredient Filters: Include or exclude specific ingredients.
Nutritional Filters: Set min/max ranges for various nutrients.
Difficulty and Time Filters: Limit results based on cooking difficulty, prep time, and cook time.
Tags: Use tags to narrow down search results to specific categories.
Tag and Collection Influence
As an admin, you can enhance the search experience by effectively using tags and collections:
Tags: Use tags to categorize recipes and help members find related content. Tags can be filtered during searches, allowing members to discover recipes that fit specific dietary needs or preferences.
Collections: Group recipes into collections for easier browsing. Collections can highlight themes or types of recipes, making it simpler for members to explore.
For more details on how to use tags and collections effectively, check out Tags vs Collections: When to Use Each.
Customizing Search Filters
You have control over which filters appear for your members:
Nutrition Filters: You can choose which nutrients members can filter by. This is done in the App Station under Features > Filters > Sections.
Tag Types: Similar to nutrition, you can manage which tag types are available for filtering. This is also found in the same Filters section.
By customizing these settings, you can tailor the search experience to better fit your audience's needs.
Performance and Accessibility
The search system is designed to be user-friendly and efficient:
Mobile-Friendly: The search interface adapts for mobile users, providing a full-screen experience for easy navigation.
Content Access: Search results respect content access restrictions, ensuring members only see recipes they have permission to view.
