Why: Ensure your members receive accurate and relevant nutrition information by customizing how nutrition data is calculated and displayed in your recipes. This feature allows you to tailor nutrition settings to meet your audience's needs, enhancing their experience and engagement.

Navigate: App Station > Content Library > Recipes > [Recipe] > Nutrition tab

Quick Start

  1. Open the recipe you want to edit in the Recipe Editor.

  2. Navigate to the Nutrition tab.

  3. To override nutrition values, toggle "Use recipe-level nutrition".

  4. Enter your custom nutrition values in the provided fields.

  5. Save your changes.

Understanding Recipe Nutrition

The nutrition data for recipes can be managed in two primary ways:

  1. Ingredient-based Calculation: By default, nutrition values are automatically calculated based on the ingredients used in the recipe. Each ingredient has a serving size basis (e.g., per 100g), which determines how nutrition scales. Custom ingredients can use any unit (grams, ounces, cups, etc.), and the system will convert these automatically.

  2. Recipe-Level Override: You can manually enter nutrition values for a recipe, which will take precedence over the calculated values. This is useful when you want to provide specific nutrition information that may differ from the ingredient-based calculations.

Yield-Based Recipes

For yield-based recipes, nutrition is calculated per unit of yield (e.g., per gram) instead of per serving. This means that if your recipe is designed to produce a specific output (like a batch of sauce), the nutrition information will reflect that output rather than a serving size.

Configuring Nutrition Display Settings

You can customize which nutrients are displayed to your members. This allows you to highlight the most relevant information based on your audience's preferences.

Steps to Configure Nutrients Displayed

  1. Go to App Station > Module Settings > Ingredients.

  2. Click on Nutrition Display Settings.

  3. Toggle the nutrients you want to show or hide. The settings apply globally to all recipes in your app.

  4. Nutrients include:

    • Macros: calories, protein, carbs, fat

    • Common: fiber, sugar, sodium, cholesterol, moisture

    • Minerals: calcium, iron, potassium

    • Vitamins: vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12

Tip: If no specific settings are configured, all nutrients will be displayed by default.

Nutrition Calculation and Overrides

When you enable the recipe-level nutrition override, the following occurs:

  • The nutrition editor will pre-fill with calculated values from the ingredients as a starting point.

  • You can enter custom values for all available nutrients.

  • Once saved, these values will be used instead of the calculated nutrition data for that recipe.

Important Notes

  • Admins always have access to all nutrition data, regardless of access level settings.

  • Direct content grants override all other access restrictions, ensuring you can always view and edit your recipes.
