Why: Streamline meal planning by effectively utilizing leftovers and prep sessions, allowing your members to enjoy delicious meals without waste. This feature helps you manage your content better, ensuring your subscribers have access to nutritious options throughout the week.

Navigate: App Station > Content Library > Recipes > [Recipe] > Prep Ahead tab

Quick Start

  1. In the App Station, go to the Content Library and select a recipe.

  2. Click on the Prep Ahead tab.

  3. Set the Make Extra option if you want to prepare additional servings for leftovers.

  4. Add the recipe to a meal plan, designating it as a MEAL session.

  5. Create a LEFTOVER session on another day to utilize the prepared food.

Understanding Leftovers

The leftovers system allows you to reuse food from one meal on another day, enhancing meal planning efficiency. Any recipe within a MEAL session can serve as a source for leftovers without any special settings.

Make Extra Feature

The optional Make Extra feature lets you specify the total quantity to prepare, including what is eaten during the original meal. This ensures accurate nutrition and shopping list calculations.

  • If you set Make Extra to a total of 6 servings for a recipe that has 4 servings, the additional amount for leftovers will be 2 servings.

  • The shopping list will use the total quantity specified in Make Extra for ingredient calculations.

Leftovers with Servings and Yield-Based Recipes

Leftovers can be managed in two ways depending on the type of recipe:

  • Servings-Based Recipes: Leftovers are calculated based on the number of servings prepared.

  • Yield-Based Recipes: If a recipe is yield-based (e.g., makes 500g), the leftovers will use the yield amounts instead of servings counts.

Where to Find Prep Sessions and Leftovers

Prep sessions and leftovers appear in two places within meal plans:

  1. Prep Row: Located within the meal plan grid for same-day prep tasks.

  2. Advance Prep: Positioned above the grid for meals prepared before the meal plan week starts.

Note: Neither prep row meals nor advance prep meals contribute to daily nutrition summaries since nothing is consumed during those sessions. Nutrition counts are recorded on the days when leftovers are eaten.

Shopping Lists and Nutrition

Shopping lists will include ingredients from both the prep row and advance prep areas, ensuring members have everything they need for their meals.

Nutrition Tracking

  • Nutrition is calculated based on what is consumed during the leftover session, not during the prep sessions.
