Daily Nutrition Summary
The daily nutrition summary in meal plans provides an overview of the aggregate nutrition totals for all recipes scheduled on that day. By default, it displays the following nutrients:
Calories
Protein (grams)
Carbs (grams)
Fat (grams)
You can customize which nutrients to display by selecting from a full catalog of options, including fiber, sugar, sodium, and various vitamins. The summary updates automatically when recipes are added or removed, or when nutrition data is modified.
Nutrition Calculation
Nutrition is calculated based on the per-serving values of each recipe. This means:
In Per Serving mode, the summary shows the sum of per-serving values for all recipes.
In Daily Total mode, it multiplies each recipe's nutrition by the number of servings scheduled for that day.
Yield-Based Recipes
For yield-based recipes, the nutrition is calculated proportionally based on the yield amount. For example, if a recipe yields 500g and you use 250g, the nutrition will reflect half of the total nutrition values.
The daily summary label will show Per Portion to accommodate both servings and yield modes.
Important Exclusions
Meals in the Prep row and Advance Prep area are excluded from daily nutrition summaries. This is because these meals represent food that is prepared but not consumed during those sessions. The nutrition is counted only on the days when the portions are actually eaten, via Portion sessions. However, shopping lists will still include ingredients from prep row and advance prep meals.
Example of Nutrition Calculation
Parent Recipe: "Pasta" (yields 500g)
Used Amount: 250g
Nutrition for 500g: 600 calories, 20g protein, 80g carbs, 10g fat
In this case, the nutrition contribution from the 250g used would be:
Calories: 300
Protein: 10g
Carbs: 40g
Fat: 5g
Configuring Daily Nutrition Summary
To enable and configure the daily nutrition summary:
Open the Meal Plan editor.
Go to the Layout tab.
Toggle on Show Daily Nutrition Summary.
Use the nutrient selection panel to choose which nutrients to display (1-6 options).

Tips for Effective Use
Regularly update your recipes to ensure accurate nutrition calculations.
Consider using yield-based recipes for batch cooking or when the output is more relevant than the number of servings.
Remind your members that nutrition values are based on actual consumption days, not preparation days.
