Why: Streamline your meal planning process by easily adding recipes to your meal plans. This feature helps you create organized, engaging meal plans that your members will love.

Navigate: App Station > Content Library > Meal Plans

Quick Start

  1. Open the Meal Plan Editor by clicking on any empty cell or the Add button in a section.

  2. In the Add Meal modal, use the search input to find recipes.

  3. Click the icon-only filter button to access the filter panel.

  4. Select tags or filters to narrow down your recipe options.

  5. Choose the days to add the selected recipes to your meal plan and click Add.

Opening the Add Meal Modal

To add recipes to a meal plan, start by opening the Add Meal modal. You can do this by clicking on any empty cell in the weekly grid or by selecting the Add button in a section.

Using the Search Input and Filter Button

Once the modal is open, you’ll see a search input at the top. This allows you to quickly find recipes by name or ingredient. Next to the search input, there’s an icon-only filter button. Clicking this will reveal the filter panel, where you can refine your search.

The Filter Panel

The filter panel contains several sections for filtering recipes, including ingredients, tags, nutrition, difficulty, and time & servings. By default, all sections are collapsed to keep the interface clean. On desktop, the filter panel is displayed in a two-column layout, making it easy to navigate.

Day Picker

The Add to Days picker is a collapsible feature that defaults to closed when you click into a specific cell. It shows the label "Add to {section} on {day}" based on the context. If you toggle on extra days, the label updates to reflect the additional days (e.g., "Add to Dinner on Mon +2"). The primary day cannot be deselected.

Quick Filter Chips

Beneath the search input, you’ll find the Quick Filter Chips row. This row supports two types of chips:

  1. Admin-configured tag chips: These are visible to both admins and members.

  2. Legacy power-user chips: These are only visible to admins and include options like "Not on a plan", "Top Rated", and "Most Loved".

Clicking a tag chip toggles that tag in the filter panel and triggers a search. Up to 10 chips can be displayed per type, sorted alphabetically, with additional options accessible via the filter panel.

Tip: You can configure which tag types render as chips by navigating to App Station > Features > Meal Plans > Quick Filter Tag Types.

Mobile Experience

On mobile devices, the Add Meal modal opens in full-screen mode, utilizing the entire viewport. This ensures that the recipe list is easily viewable and navigable on smaller screens.

Plan Size Limits

Plan size limits:

  • Every meal plan can hold a maximum of 100 recipes, including for admins.

  • For PDF export, the practical limit is 50 recipes. If a plan exceeds this, a warning banner will appear, indicating that while the plan can still be edited, it will not produce a PDF.

  • If your meal plan is getting too large, consider splitting it into two smaller plans and linking them using the Related Content property.

  • A member's access level may also impose a stricter recipe-per-plan limit, which can be configured under App Station > Monetization > Access Levels.
