Detailed Instructions
Finding the Setting
To configure the quick filter chips for meal plans, start by accessing the relevant settings in your App Station:
Open App Station.
Click on Features in the sidebar.
Select Meal Plans.
Click on Quick Filter Tag Types.
Here, you can manage which tag types will appear as quick filter chips in the Add Meal modal.
Available Tag Types
You can choose from the following tag types to display as quick filter chips:
Meal Type
Dietary
Cuisine
Cooking Method
Difficulty
Category
Audience
Topic
General
Each tag type will show a live count of how many tags exist for that category. This helps you understand which tags are available for your members to filter by.
Member vs. Admin View
When members access the meal planning feature, they will see only the quick filter chips you have configured. These chips allow them to filter meal plans easily.
As an admin, you will see these quick filter chips alongside the legacy power-user chips, which include options like "Not on a plan" and "Top Rated." This dual view helps you manage and understand the filtering options available to your members.
Chip Limitations
Each tag type can contribute up to 10 chips that will be displayed alphabetically. If there are more than 10 tags for a type, the remaining tags will still be accessible within the full filter panel.
If a tag type has no tags available, it will be silently skipped and not displayed to members.
Practical Recommendations
To make the most of the quick filter chips:
Select 1-3 tag types that your members care about the most. Commonly, Meal Type and Dietary are popular choices.
Keep tag names short to ensure they fit well within the chip format.
Curate your tags before enabling this feature. A well-organized chip row will be more helpful than a cluttered one.
Empty State Behavior
If a tag type has no tags, it will not appear in the quick filter chips. This ensures that members are not presented with empty options, maintaining a clean and user-friendly interface.
