Notification templates

Updated over a week ago

Admins can control the content of email and app notifications via the templating system. This gives you control over the exact content sent to users to meet your personal style.

App station > Settings > Notifications

Notification events

Templates are provided for each of the following events:

  • Meal plan published

  • Dashboard activity feed post published

  • New forum topic created

  • New comment on user topic (sent to users who have already engaged with the topic)

Template content

The content of your template can be a mix of static text along with dynamic data. This allows you to insert text based on the actual notification being sent. For example you can include the name of the meal plan being published.

Remember that people do not like to read long notifications -- keep your templates BRIEF! The goal is for them to click on the CTA (Call to Action) button.

The content options are used differently depending on the notification type as follows:

Content

Email usage

App notification usage

Subject/Title

Subject and fist line of text following your logo

First line

Before CTA

Text follows the Subject/Title and precedes the CTA button

Second line

CTA

Text of button

Not used

After CTA

Text follows the CTA button

Not used

Dynamic content

Several dynamic data points may be included in your template by first typing the "@" symbol and then selecting from the available options. The actual value of the data point will be inserted at the time of the notification event.

Sending tests

Each type of notification has a "Send test notification" button. When clicked, you'll be prompted to confirm, or modify, your email address. Upon confirmation, a test email will be sent, along with a test push notification (if you have previously allowed such notifications on this device).
