Why: Empower your members to express their culinary creativity by allowing them to create their own recipes. This feature enhances engagement and gives members a personalized experience within your app.
Navigate: App Station > Settings > Explore More Features and App Station > Access Levels > [level] > Member Permissions
Quick Start
Go to App Station and select Settings.
Click on Explore More Features and enable the Member-Created Recipes feature.
Navigate to Access Levels and select the access level you want to modify.
Toggle on the canCreateRecipes permission for the desired access level.
Inform your members about how to create their own recipes via the app.
Detailed Overview
Members can create their own recipes using a simplified, mobile-friendly editor. These recipes are private and can only be accessed by the member who created them. This feature is similar to member-created meal plans.

Enabling Member-Created Recipes
To allow your members to create their own recipes, you need to enable the feature and set the appropriate permissions:
Enable the Feature:
Go to App Station > Settings > Explore More Features and enable Member-Created Recipes.
Set Permissions:
Navigate to Access Levels and select the access level you want to modify.
Under Member Permissions, toggle on canCreateRecipes to allow members to create their own recipes.
Member Recipe Creation Process
Once enabled, members can create recipes by following these steps:
Members click the New Recipe button in their My Stuff section.
A simplified editor opens, allowing them to add a title, notes, and a single image.
They can select ingredients from the library and add instructions in rich text format.
Nutrition information is automatically calculated based on the ingredients used.
The recipe is saved and available only to the member.
Content Visibility
Member-created recipes are only visible to the member who created them. They can appear in search results and blocks if the configuration allows it. Admins can control whether member recipes are included in content displays through the includeMemberRecipes setting.
Limitations for Members
Members have some limitations when creating recipes:
They can only use ingredients from the library and cannot create new ingredients.
Member-created recipes cannot include component recipes (sub-recipes).
Nutrition values are calculated and displayed as read-only; members cannot edit these values.
Important Notes
Member-created recipes are always published and cannot be saved as drafts.
Members can manage their recipes through the My Stuff page, where they can view, edit, or delete their creations.
