Enabling Member-Created Recipes

To allow your members to create their own recipes, you need to enable the feature in your app settings and adjust the access levels accordingly.

Step 1: Enable the Feature Flag

  1. Navigate to App Station.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Click on Features.

  4. Enable the member_created_content feature flag.

Step 2: Configure Access Levels

  1. In App Station, go to Access Levels.

  2. Edit the access level you want to modify.

  3. Ensure the canCreateRecipes option is enabled for that access level. By default, this is set to false, so you need to opt-in.

Tip: Remember, admins always have access to everything, regardless of these settings.

Member Recipe Creation Process

Once enabled, your members can create recipes through the My Stuff page. Here’s how the process works:

  1. Members click the New Recipe button.

  2. They are taken to a simplified editor where they can:

    • Add a title and notes.

    • Upload a single image.

    • Select ingredients from the library.

    • Write instructions using rich text.

    • View calculated nutrition information.

Privacy and Visibility

Member-created recipes are only visible to the member who created them. They cannot be accessed by other members or guests, ensuring privacy.

Nutrition Handling

Nutrition for member-created recipes is automatically calculated based on the ingredients selected from the library. Members cannot manually edit nutrition values or create new ingredients with nutrition data.

Missing Nutrition Warning

If any ingredient lacks nutrition data, a warning will be displayed, indicating that some ingredients do not have nutrition information.
