  1. Enable the Feature:

    • Go to App Station > Settings > Explore More Features and enable Member-Created Recipes.

  2. Set Permissions:

    • Navigate to Access Levels and select the access level you want to modify.

    • Under Member Permissions, toggle on canCreateRecipes to allow members to create their own recipes.

Member Recipe Creation Process

Once enabled, members can create recipes by following these steps:

  1. Members click the New Recipe button in their My Stuff section.

  2. A simplified editor opens, allowing them to add a title, notes, and a single image.

  3. They can select ingredients from the library and add instructions in rich text format.

  4. Nutrition information is automatically calculated based on the ingredients used.

  5. The recipe is saved and available only to the member.

Content Visibility

Member-created recipes are only visible to the member who created them. They can appear in search results and blocks if the configuration allows it. Admins can control whether member recipes are included in content displays through the includeMemberRecipes setting.

Limitations for Members

Members have some limitations when creating recipes:

  • They can only use ingredients from the library and cannot create new ingredients.

  • Member-created recipes cannot include component recipes (sub-recipes).

  • Nutrition values are calculated and displayed as read-only; members cannot edit these values.

Important Notes

  • Member-created recipes are always published and cannot be saved as drafts.

  • Members can manage their recipes through the My Stuff page, where they can view, edit, or delete their creations.
