Why: Empower your members to create their own personal Bites (snacks, drinks, supplements) to enhance their experience and engagement with your app. This feature allows them to easily track their favorite snacks while integrating seamlessly into meal plans and calorie budgets.
Navigate: App Station > Monetization > Access Levels > [level]
Quick Start
Go to App Station and select Monetization.
Click on Access Levels and choose the desired access level.
Toggle Can create bites to enable member-created Bites.
Instruct members to navigate to My Stuff and select My Bites to create their own Bites.
Members can use the Bite editor to add a title, optional notes, a single image, and nutrition values.

Overview of Member-Created Bites
Members can create their own Bites using a simplified mobile-first editor. Bites are lightweight items that consist of a title, an optional image, and optional nutrition values. These Bites are private to the creator and can be added to meal plans, contributing to calorie budgets.
Permission Gates
To enable member-created Bites, two permission gates must be satisfied:
Superadmin Feature Flag: The
member_created_contentfeature flag must be enabled for your app. This flag is shared with member-created recipes and meal plans.Access Level Capability: At least one of the member's active access levels must have the
canCreateBitestoggle set to true. By default, this is false for all access levels.
Enabling Member-Created Bites
To enable the ability for members to create Bites:
Navigate to App Station > Monetization > Access Levels.
Select the access level you want to modify.
Under Member Permissions, toggle Can create bites to enable this feature.
Using the Bite Editor
Members can create Bites using a simplified editor that has two tabs:
Details Tab: Members can enter a title, optional notes, and upload a single image.
Nutrition Tab: Members can enter override nutrition values. Note that nutrition is not computed from ingredients; it is strictly override-only.
Finding Member-Created Bites
Members can find their created Bites by navigating to My Stuff > My Bites. Here, they can view, edit, or delete their personal Bites.
Key Differences from Admin Bites
Member-created Bites have some important distinctions from admin Bites:
Visibility: Only the creator can see their Bites, while admin Bites are visible to all members with access.
Media: Members can only upload a single image for their Bites, whereas admin Bites can have multiple media types.
Publishing: Member-created Bites are automatically published upon creation, while admin Bites can be in draft or scheduled states.
Tags and Collections: Member-created Bites do not support tags or collections, unlike admin Bites.
Nutrition for Member-Created Bites
Nutrition values for member-created Bites are entered as overrides. There is no ingredient computation involved, meaning members must manually enter the nutritional information. The values are stored as single servings and are used directly in meal plans without any scaling.
