Why: Organize your content effectively with tags, making it easier for your members to find what they need. Tags enhance search and filtering, improving the overall user experience in your app.

Navigate: App Station > App Settings > Tags & Collections

Quick Start

  1. Go to App Station and select App Settings.

  2. Click on Tags & Collections.

  3. Select the Tags tab.

  4. Click Add Tag to create a new tag.

  5. Use drag-and-drop or the up/down arrows to reorder your tags.

Overview of Tags

Tags are a powerful way to label and organize your content across various types, such as recipes, meal plans, and blog posts. They help your members filter and search for content based on specific attributes, like dietary needs or meal types. For example, a tag like "Gluten Free" can be applied to both recipes and meal plans.

Tag Types

Tags can be categorized into different types, allowing for more relevant filtering:

  • Dietary: Dietary restrictions/preferences (e.g., "Gluten Free", "Vegan")

  • Cuisine: Culinary traditions (e.g., "Italian", "Thai")

  • Meal Type: Meal categorization (e.g., "Breakfast", "Dinner")

  • Cooking Method: Cooking techniques (e.g., "Slow Cooker", "Grilled")

  • Difficulty: Skill level (e.g., "Easy", "Advanced")

Creating and Managing Tags

Adding a Tag

  1. In the Tags tab, click Add Tag.

  2. Enter the Name for the tag (this is required).

  3. Optionally, add a Short Name for display purposes.

  4. Select a Tag Type from the dropdown.

  5. Click Save to create the tag.

Reordering Tags

You can control the display order of your tags using two methods:

  • Drag-and-Drop: Click and hold the handle on the left side of a tag row, then drag it to your desired position.

  • Up/Down Arrows: Use the up and down arrow buttons to move a tag one step at a time within the visible list.

Both methods will immediately update the order of tags in your app.

Tag Usage and Filtering

Tags enhance the search and filtering capabilities for your members. When a member searches for content, they can filter by tags to narrow down results. Tags appear as chips on content cards, making it easy for members to see relevant attributes at a glance.

Tags vs. Collections

While both tags and collections help members find content, they serve different purposes:

  • Tags: Use tags to label content with attributes that members might filter by (e.g., "Gluten Free", "Easy").

  • Collections: Use collections to curate themed groups of content that members can browse as destinations (e.g., "Weeknight Winners").
