Why: Attract new subscribers and reward existing ones by offering discounts through promo codes. This feature helps you drive sales and enhance member engagement.

Navigate: App Station > Monetization > Offers > Promo Codes

Quick Start

  1. Click the Create Promo Code button.

  2. Enter a unique code for your promo.

  3. Select the Discount Type (Percentage or Fixed Amount).

  4. Set the Discount Value, Expiration Date, and any Usage Limits.

  5. Choose at least one applicable offer and click Save.

Creating and Managing Promo Codes

Promo codes are a powerful tool to incentivize purchases and manage discounts for your members. Here’s how to create and manage them effectively.

What You Can Configure

When creating a promo code, you will set the following terms:

  • Discount Type: Choose between a percentage discount (e.g., 20% off) or a fixed amount (e.g., $10 off).

  • Discount Value: Specify the amount or percentage of the discount.

  • Expiration Date: Set a date after which the promo code will no longer be valid.

  • Usage Limits: Optionally, limit the number of times the promo code can be redeemed.

  • New Customers Only: If selected, this code will only apply to first-time buyers. Note that cancelling and re-subscribing does not reset this eligibility.

Applying Promo Codes

  • Existing Members: Members who switch plans in the Stripe Customer Portal can enter an eligible promo code on the update screen.

  • Checkout Links: If you create checkout links marked as an upgrade campaign, these can pre-apply an eligible promo when a logged-in subscriber opens the link. However, do not mark these codes as "New Customers Only" since existing members will be using them.

Important Considerations

  • Once a promo code is created, the terms (discount, expiry, limits, etc.) cannot be changed.

  • Admins must select at least one applicable offer when creating a promo code. This ties the promo to specific products.

  • After creating a promo code, toggling it to Active will auto-save the status. Deactivating the code will turn it off for new checkouts, but existing subscriptions will retain their discounts.

Managing Promo Codes

To view or edit existing promo codes:

  1. Navigate to the Promo Codes section in the Offers tab.

  2. Here, you can see a summary of all your promo codes, including their status and key details.

  3. Click on a promo code to view its details or toggle its active status.

Tip: Regularly review your promo codes to ensure they align with your current marketing strategies and member engagement goals.
