Why: Enable your members to share the joy of your content by allowing them to gift subscriptions to friends and family. This feature enhances engagement and can help grow your subscriber base.

Navigate: App Station > Monetization > Gifting

Quick Start

  1. Click on Monetization in the left sidebar.

  2. Select Gifting from the dropdown menu.

  3. Configure your gift email template and promotional cards.

  4. Share the gifting link with your members.

  5. Monitor gift purchases and recipient subscriptions.


How Gift Subscriptions Work

The gift subscription system allows your members to purchase subscriptions or one-time access for others. Here’s how it works:

  1. Gifter Purchases: A member (the gifter) makes a one-time payment for a subscription on behalf of someone else (the recipient).

  2. Recipient Gets Subscription: The recipient receives a new subscription that includes a trial period matching the offer's billing interval (e.g., 1 month).

  3. Automatic Account Creation: If the recipient does not already have an account, one will be created automatically.

  4. Payment Method Prompt: Before the trial period ends, the recipient will be prompted to add their own payment method to continue the subscription.

  5. Gift Welcome Emails: Recipients receive a customizable welcome email that includes a personal message from the gifter.

Configuring Gift Subscriptions

Setting Up Email Templates

You can customize the welcome email that recipients receive when they are gifted a subscription. This email can include:

  • A personalized greeting

  • The gifter's message

  • Information about the gifted offer

To manage your email templates:

  1. Go to the Gifting section in the App Station.

  2. Select Gift Email Templates.

  3. Edit the subject line, greeting text, body content, and footer text as needed.

Creating Promotional Cards

Promotional cards can be used to encourage gifting within your app. You can create and manage these cards to appear in content blocks.

  1. In the Gifting section, navigate to Promo Cards.

  2. Create a new promo card template by providing a title, subtitle, call-to-action text, and background settings.

  3. Set the frequency of how often these promo cards appear in your content.

Monitoring Gift Purchases

You can track the gifts given and received by your members. This helps you understand engagement and the effectiveness of your gifting feature.

  1. In the Gifting section, look for the Gift Purchases report.

  2. Review the details of each gift, including the gifter's information and the recipient's status.

Important Notes

  • Members can only gift subscriptions that you have set up in your offers.

  • The gifter's invoice will clearly indicate that it is a gift purchase, including details about the recipient.

  • Recipients must add a payment method to continue their subscription after the trial period ends.
