Why Set Up Creator Personality?
Setting up your creator personality is essential for several reasons:
Trust and Recognition: Members are more likely to subscribe to someone they can relate to. A clear name, photo, and tagline make your app feel personal.
Centralized Management: You can configure your identity in one place under App Station > App Settings > Personality. The same values will appear across various surfaces in your app.
Optional Fields: All fields are optional. If you leave the Creator Name blank, most bylines will remain hidden, ensuring a clean presentation.
Where Members See Your Personality
Your creator personality appears in several key areas throughout the app:
Where | What Members See |
Recipe, Meal Plan, Blog, Course, and Resource Detail Pages | A byline that includes a small avatar and your creator name. Clicking it opens the Creator Profile sheet with your full bio and links. |
Creator Profile Sheet | Displays a large photo, name, tagline, bio, and social profile links (note that social links are edited elsewhere but displayed here). |
Feed Block | Can show creator identity on each blog post when configured to include it. |
Content Story Block | Optionally shows a creator line above the story text when enabled in the block settings. |
Note: The theme and branding elements, such as logo, colors, and typography, are managed separately from your personality settings.
Setting Up Your Creator Personality
To set up your creator personality, follow these steps:
Go to App Station > App Settings > Personality.
Fill in the Creator Name and Tagline fields.
Upload your Profile Photo. Make sure it’s a square image, ideally at least 200x200 pixels.
Use the Bio Editor to write your bio. This editor supports rich text formatting, allowing you to include bold text, lists, and links.
Click Save Changes to apply your updates.
Social profile links are managed separately under the Social Sharing settings but will be displayed in your Creator Profile Sheet.
Understanding the Creator Profile Sheet
When members click on your name or avatar in any content detail header, they will see the Creator Profile Sheet. This modal includes:
Your profile image (displayed as a circular avatar)
Your creator name
Your tagline (in italics)
Your bio (formatted as rich text)
Links to your social media profiles
Enhancing Member Engagement
The Creator Personality feature is part of a broader storytelling initiative within the platform. By establishing a clear creator identity, you foster deeper connections with your members. The clickable bylines in content detail headers, the Feed Block, and the Content Story Block all contribute to a cohesive experience that highlights your unique brand.
For more information on how these features work together, see the Storytelling Overview.
