Setting Up Your Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Cookie Consent

Privacy Policy

Your privacy policy outlines how you handle member data, including collection, usage, and sharing practices. To set it up:

  1. Go to the Legal section in the Settings of App Station.

  2. Review the existing privacy policy or create a new one using the rich text editor.

  3. Ensure it complies with relevant regulations like GDPR or CCPA.

Terms of Service

The terms of service define the rules and guidelines for using your app. To configure this:

  1. In the Legal section, locate the Terms of Service document.

  2. Edit the content to reflect your app's specific terms.

  3. Publish the document to make it active.

Cookie Policy

A cookie policy informs members about the cookies used on your app and how they can manage their preferences. To set this up:

  1. Access the Legal section in App Station.

  2. Create or update your Cookie Policy.

  3. Make sure to include information on how cookies are used and how members can opt-out.

Legal Acceptance Tracking

To ensure that your members accept your legal documents:

  1. Enable Legal Acceptance: This feature requires members to explicitly accept your privacy policy and terms of service before accessing the app.

  2. Acceptance Flow:

    • When a member logs in for the first time, they will see a full-screen modal prompting them to accept the legal documents.

    • For updates to existing documents, members will see a reminder during a grace period, after which acceptance is mandatory.

  3. Audit Trail: The system records the acceptance, including the member's IP address and the timestamp, ensuring you have a clear record of compliance.

Grace Period

You can configure a grace period for existing members when legal documents are updated. The default is 30 days, allowing members time to review the changes before they must accept.
