Why: Enable your members to order ingredients directly from their shopping lists using Instacart, making meal preparation easier and more convenient for them.

Navigate: App Station > Settings > Integrations > Grocery (Instacart)

Quick Start

  1. Go to App Station and select Integrations.

  2. Find the Grocery (Instacart) section.

  3. Enable the Instacart integration feature flag.

  4. Configure your Instacart settings (country and enable/disable).

  5. Save your changes.

Overview

The Instacart shopping integration allows your members to shop for ingredients directly from their shopping lists. When enabled, members can click a button to create a shopping list page on Instacart, where they can select products and complete their checkout seamlessly.

Configuration

Enabling the Integration

To enable the Instacart integration for your app, follow these steps:

  1. Access Integrations: Navigate to App Station and select Integrations.

  2. Enable Feature Flag: Look for the Instacart integration feature flag and enable it. This feature is typically available for Launch+ pricing tiers.

  3. Set Up Configuration: Configure the following settings:

    • Enabled: Toggle to enable or disable the Instacart checkout option.

    • Country: Select the country for Instacart availability (either 'US' or 'CA').

When the integration is enabled, your members will see a "Shop with Instacart" button on their shopping lists.

Important Notes

  • The Instacart integration operates without requiring OAuth. It uses a Bearer token with an API key for authentication.

  • You can enable both Instacart and Walmart integrations, allowing members to choose their preferred shopping service.

How It Works

When a member clicks the "Shop with Instacart" button on their shopping list, the following occurs:

  1. The app creates a shopping list page on Instacart using a single API call.

  2. Instacart handles product matching, store selection, and checkout.

  3. Members are redirected to the Instacart marketplace to complete their order.
