Overview of Walmart Integration

The Walmart shopping integration allows your members to seamlessly order ingredients from their shopping lists. Here’s how it works for them:

Members click the Shop at Walmart button from any shopping list.
They enter their zip code (which can be saved for future use).
The app maps their shopping list ingredients to Walmart products.
Members can review and adjust product matches before proceeding.
Finally, they are directed to a pre-populated Walmart cart to complete their purchase.

Enabling the Walmart Integration

To enable the Walmart shopping integration for your app, follow these steps:

Access the Integrations Page: Navigate to Settings in the App Station and select Integrations.
Enable the Feature Flag: Find the Walmart integration option and enable the walmart_integration feature flag. This allows the integration to be active for your app.
Save Your Changes: Ensure you save your settings to apply the integration.

Tip: Make sure to check if your region supports Walmart integration. If not, the Walmart option will be hidden in the app.

How Members Use the Integration

Once the integration is enabled, here's how your members can utilize it:

Accessing the Shopping List: Members can view their shopping lists and click the Shop at Walmart button.
Entering Zip Code: On their first use, members will be prompted to enter their zip code. This zip code will be saved for future sessions.
Product Mapping: The app automatically maps the ingredients to Walmart products, allowing members to see available options.
Reviewing Matches: Members can review the matched products, select alternatives, or skip items they don’t want.
Completing the Purchase: After confirming their selections, members are taken to a Walmart cart pre-filled with their chosen items.

Important Configuration Details

Region Availability: The Walmart integration is only available in certain regions. If your app is hosted in a region where Walmart is not available, the integration will not be visible.
User Zip Code: The integration saves the user’s zip code to enhance their shopping experience. Members can update this zip code as needed.
Cart Creation: The integration uses an affiliate URL format to create a cart for the selected products, ensuring a smooth checkout process.

Common Questions

What happens if a product is not found? If a product cannot be matched, members will see an option to skip it or choose an alternative.
Can members change their zip code later? Yes, members can update their zip code in their profile settings, which will be used for future shopping list mappings.
