Why: Enable your members to order ingredients directly from Walmart, streamlining their shopping experience and increasing engagement with your app.
Navigate: App Station > Settings > Integrations > Walmart
Quick Start
Go to Settings in the App Station.
Select Integrations.
Click on Walmart.
Enable the walmart_integration feature flag.
Save your changes.
Overview
The Walmart integration allows your members to easily shop for ingredients from their shopping lists. Here’s how it works:
Members click "Shop at Walmart" from their shopping list.
They enter their zip code (this is saved for future use).
The app maps their shopping list ingredients to Walmart products.
Members can review and adjust the product matches.
A pre-populated Walmart cart opens for them to complete their purchase.
Configuration
To enable the Walmart shopping integration for your app, follow these steps:
1. Enable the Integration
Navigate to the Integrations section in the App Station.
Find the Walmart integration option.
Enable the walmart_integration feature flag.
2. Set Up API Credentials
You will need to provide your Walmart API credentials. This typically involves adding the following information to your environment configuration:
Walmart Client ID
Walmart Client Secret
Walmart Consumer ID
These credentials allow your app to communicate securely with Walmart's services.
3. Save User Zip Codes
When members enter their zip code, it will be saved to their profile for future use. This simplifies the shopping process, as they won’t need to enter it each time.
How Members Use the Integration
Once the integration is enabled, members can follow these steps to shop for ingredients:
Access Shopping List: Members go to their shopping list.
Click "Shop at Walmart": This button initiates the shopping process.
Enter Zip Code: If they haven't saved their zip code, they will be prompted to enter it.
Review Product Matches: The app will display matched Walmart products for their ingredients.
Complete Purchase: Members can click to open a pre-populated cart on Walmart's site to finalize their order.
Important Notes
Ensure that the walmart_integration feature flag is enabled for your app to allow members to access this functionality.
Members can only shop for ingredients that are available in Walmart. If an ingredient cannot be matched, it will be marked accordingly.
