Overview of Meal Mix
Meal Mix provides a weekly view of how a member's planned meals are categorized by tags, such as "Power" or "Budget." This feature is not a target system; instead, it offers a breakdown of meals without requiring members to classify their own recipes.
Key Features
Calorie Budget Integration: Meal Mix reuses the calorie budget access settings. If members can track their calorie budget, they will also see the Meal Mix data. There is no separate permission needed for Meal Mix.
Configurable Tags: You can enable Meal Mix for each meal plan template and select up to six tags to categorize meals. You can also add optional display labels and guide text for clarity.
Counting Meals: Each meal is counted under every tag it has. For example, if a meal is tagged as both "Power" and "Pleasure," it will contribute to both tags' counts.
Exclusions: Prep tasks and batch-cook rows are excluded from the count. However, leftovers will count when they are consumed.
Member Experience: Members will see data rows without headings or quotas, simplifying the interface and focusing on meal counts.
Enabling Meal Mix
To enable Meal Mix, follow these steps:
Navigate to App Station > Settings > Content Settings > Meal Plans > Templates.
Select the meal plan template you want to configure.
In the Layout tab, toggle the Meal Mix option to enable it.
Choose up to six existing tags that you want to associate with this meal plan.
Optionally, customize the display labels and guide text to provide additional context for your members.
Decide if you want to show the unclassified label and whether to display it when the count is zero.
Save your changes.
How Meal Mix Counts Meals
Meal Mix counts meals based on the tags assigned to them. Here’s how it works:
Each meal is counted for every tag it carries. For example, a meal tagged with both "Power" and "Pleasure" will increment the count for both tags.
Meals marked as leftovers will be counted when consumed, while prep tasks and batch cooking entries will not contribute to the count.
If a meal has no tags, it will fall under the "unclassified" category, which can be displayed based on your settings.
Important Considerations
Members are not required to classify their recipes, making the process seamless for them.
Meal Mix is only visible to members who meet specific criteria, including having access to track their calorie budget and owning their meal plans.
The display will not show any headings or progress indicators, focusing solely on the meal counts.
