Why: Enhance your recipes with engaging visuals by uploading photos and videos. This not only makes your content more appealing but also helps your subscribers better understand the cooking process.
Navigate: App Station > Content Library > Recipes > [Recipe] > Media section
Quick Start
Go to the Content Library in App Station.
Select a recipe from the list.
Navigate to the Media section.
Click the Upload Video button to upload a video directly or paste an embed code for an external video.
For custom video thumbnails, click the Poster button after uploading to select a frame or upload an image.
Uploading Recipe Photos
To add photos to your recipes, simply click the Upload Photo button in the Media section. You can upload images in common formats such as JPEG, PNG, and GIF. Ensure your images are high quality to create a visually appealing recipe.
Uploading Videos
You can add videos to your recipes in two ways:
1. Direct Video Upload
You can upload videos directly to your app using the video hosting feature. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and AVI. There is no server-side size limit, but keep in mind that larger files may take longer to upload and process.
2. Embedding External Videos
You can also embed videos from platforms like YouTube and Vimeo. To do this, simply paste the embed code into the designated field in the Media section. Ensure that the embed code is valid and does not exceed 10,000 characters.
Setting a Custom Video Poster
For videos uploaded directly, you can set a custom poster (thumbnail) by clicking the Poster button in the media gallery. The Poster modal has two tabs:
Pick video frame: Scrub through the video timeline and select a frame to use as the thumbnail.
Upload image: Upload a custom image cropped to a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Note: The two options are mutually exclusive — saving one will clear the other. The chosen poster will be used everywhere the video appears, including cards, detail pages, galleries, and social previews.
Important Considerations
Ensure your video files are within reasonable size limits for quicker uploads and processing.
Videos must be fully processed before they can be played. You can check the processing status in the Media section.
Remember that all uploaded content must be published to be visible to your members.
