Uploading Photos and Videos
You can add both photos and videos to your recipes to create a richer experience for your subscribers. Here’s how to do it:
Supported Video Types
Direct Video Uploads: You can upload videos directly to your app using the video hosting service. This allows for high-quality video playback without worrying about file size limits on your server.
Embedded Videos: You can also embed videos from popular platforms like YouTube and Vimeo. This is done by pasting the embed code into the appropriate field.
File Formats and Size Limits
Photos: Common image formats such as JPEG, PNG, and GIF are supported.
Videos: Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and AVI. There are no server-side size limits for videos uploaded directly, but keep in mind that larger files may take longer to process.
Uploading a Video
In the Media section of your recipe, click the Upload Video button.
Select your video file and wait for the upload to complete. The system will show a processing message while the video is being prepared.
Once uploaded, you can set a custom poster for your video. Click the Poster button next to the video.
In the Poster modal, you have two options:
Pick video frame: Scrub through the video timeline to select a frame as the thumbnail.
Upload image: Upload a custom image cropped to a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Note: Choosing one option will clear the other, so make sure to save your selection.
Embedding an External Video
In the Media section, select the Embed Video option.
Paste the embed code from YouTube, Vimeo, or another supported platform.
Click Save to store the embedded video.
Using the Poster Feature
For videos uploaded directly, you can customize the poster image that appears in various places, including:
Recipe cards
Detail pages
Galleries
Social previews
The poster you choose will be used consistently across all these areas, helping to maintain a professional look for your content.
