Why: Enhance engagement with your content by allowing members to leave feedback. This feature not only fosters community interaction but also enables you to respond directly to member inquiries and comments.

Navigate: App Station > Settings > Comments

Quick Start

  1. Go to App Station and select Settings.

  2. Click on Comments.

  3. Toggle the Enable Comments option to turn on or off.

  4. Choose your Moderation Mode: Pre-Approval or Reactive.

  5. Set the Max Comment Length if desired.

Overview of the Comments System

The comments system allows your members to leave feedback on various content types, including recipes, meal plans, resources, blog posts, and more. As an admin, you can respond to these comments, creating a supportive interaction environment.

Enabling and Configuring Comments

To enable comments for your app:

  1. Navigate to Settings in the App Station.

  2. Select Comments.

  3. Toggle the Enable Comments option to activate the feature.

You can also configure the following settings:

  • Enabled Content Types: Choose which types of content will allow comments (e.g., recipes, meal plans).

  • Moderation Mode:

    • Pre-Approval: Comments require your approval before being visible to members.

    • Reactive: Comments are visible immediately after submission, and you can hide them later if necessary.

  • Max Comment Length: Set a limit for the number of characters in each comment (default is 2000).

Moderating Comments

As an admin, you have the ability to moderate comments based on the chosen moderation mode:

  • Pre-Approval Mode:

    1. When a member submits a comment, it will be marked as PENDING_APPROVAL.

    2. You can review these comments in the moderation queue.

    3. Approve comments to make them visible, or hide them if inappropriate.

  • Reactive Mode:

    1. Comments are immediately published upon submission.

    2. You can later hide any comments that are deemed inappropriate.

To access the moderation queue, go to the Comments Queue section under Settings.

Admin Replies

You can reply to comments made by members. This feature allows you to acknowledge feedback or provide additional information.

  • To reply to a comment, find the comment in the moderation queue and use the reply option available next to it.

Forum Integration

If your app has a forum enabled, you can extend discussions beyond comments. Members can click on the Discuss in Community button to start a discussion thread related to the content.

  • Ensure the forum module is enabled for this feature to appear.

Daily Digest

You can opt to receive a daily email digest summarizing new comments and ratings pending moderation. To enable this feature:

  1. Go to your Profile settings.

  2. Navigate to Notifications.

  3. Opt-in for the daily digest.

This digest will include:

  • A summary of new comments in the last 24 hours.

  • Any pending comments that need your approval.

Best Practices

  • Regularly check the comments moderation queue to engage with your members promptly.

  • Use the forum for in-depth discussions while keeping comments for quick feedback.

  • Set a clear comment policy to guide members on acceptable feedback.
