Navigate: App Station > App Settings > Ratings

Quick Start

  1. Click on App Settings in the App Station menu.

  2. Select Ratings from the settings options.

  3. Toggle the Enable Ratings option to turn the feature on or off.

  4. Choose which content types (e.g., recipes, meal plans) will support ratings.

  5. Set a custom color for the star icons if desired.

Understanding the Ratings System

The ratings system allows your members to rate any content type on a 5-star scale. This feature is beneficial for gathering feedback and improving your content based on member preferences.

Key Features

  • Universal Ratings: Members can rate various content types, including recipes, meal plans, resources, journeys, and blog posts.

  • 5-Star Input: Members can easily set ratings by clicking on stars.

  • Conditional Feedback: Feedback text is required for ratings of 2 stars or lower; it's optional for higher ratings.

  • Auto-Approval: Ratings of 4 stars and above are automatically approved, while lower ratings require your review.

  • Average Display: The average rating is shown alongside the star icon and numeric value on content cards and detail pages.

Configuring Ratings

You can customize how ratings work for your app through the App Station.

Steps to Configure Ratings

  1. Enable or Disable Ratings: You can toggle the ratings feature on or off globally.

  2. Select Content Types: Choose which types of content will allow ratings. This can include recipes, meal plans, and more.

  3. Customize Star Color: Set a specific color for the star icons to match your app's branding.

Accessing Ratings Configuration

To access the ratings configuration, go to App Station > App Settings > Ratings. Here, you can make the necessary adjustments to how ratings function in your app.

Moderating Ratings

As an admin, you have the ability to review and moderate ratings submitted by members.

How Moderation Works

  • Approval Process: Ratings of 4 stars or higher are automatically approved. Ratings of 1-3 stars will appear in your moderation queue for review.

  • Daily Digest: You will receive a daily email digest that includes pending ratings, making it easy to keep track of feedback that needs your attention.

Viewing and Responding to Ratings

You can view all user ratings and feedback through App Station > Member Interactions > User Ratings. Here, you can approve or revoke ratings as needed.

Displaying Ratings

Ratings are displayed on content cards and detail pages, providing immediate feedback to potential viewers.

When Ratings Are Shown

  • Content Cards: Ratings will display if the card template is configured to show ratings.

  • Detail Pages: Ratings will appear if the detail page block is set to show them.

Rating Rounding

Average ratings are rounded to the nearest 0.5 for display purposes. For example:

  • A rating of 4.1 will display as 4.0.

  • A rating of 4.3 will display as 4.5.
