Why: Enhance your app's visibility and engagement by allowing members to easily share your content on social media. This feature helps increase your reach and attract new subscribers.

Navigate: App Station > App Settings > Sharing

Quick Start

  1. Go to App Station and select App Settings.

  2. Click on the Sharing tab.

  3. Upload a default share image for content without cover images.

  4. Customize share text templates for different social networks.

  5. Enable or disable social networks for sharing.

Overview

The social sharing feature allows you to configure how your content is shared across various social networks. This includes customizable templates for share text and images, ensuring your content looks great when shared.

Key Features

  • Native mobile sharing using the device's share sheet.

  • Desktop sharing modal with buttons for various social networks.

  • Instagram workflow for easy sharing of captions and images.

  • Open Graph meta tags for rich previews on social platforms.

  • Admin-configurable templates with placeholders for dynamic content.

Configuration Options

Default Share Image

You can set a default share image that will be used when specific content does not have a cover image. This ensures that every shared post has a visual element.

Share Text Templates

Customize the text that appears when your content is shared. You can set default templates for various networks, including:

  • General share text for all networks.

  • Twitter-specific text.

  • Facebook-specific text.

  • Instagram captions.

These templates can include placeholders like {title}, {url}, and {appName} to personalize the message.

Enabled Networks

You can choose which social networks appear in the sharing modal. The default options include:

  • Twitter

  • Facebook

  • Pinterest

  • Instagram

  • Email

Instagram Workflow

For Instagram, the sharing process is slightly different. Users will have the option to copy a caption and download an image, which they can then use to create a post on Instagram. This workflow is designed to enhance the sharing experience on desktop.

Best Practices

  1. Set a Default Share Image: Always have a fallback image to ensure your content is visually appealing when shared.

  2. Use Placeholders: Personalize share text with dynamic placeholders to make it more engaging for members.

  3. Optimize Share Images: Use images that are 1200x630px for the best results on social media.

  4. Test Sharing Functionality: Verify that sharing works seamlessly on both mobile and desktop devices.
