To start using the Google Review prompt, you need to enable it in your app's settings:

  1. Navigate to App Station > Features > Engagement > Google Reviews.

  2. Toggle the Enable Google Review Prompt option to activate the feature.

Connecting Your Google Review Link

You will need your Google review link, which can be easily obtained from your Google Business Profile:

  1. Sign in to your Google Business Profile.

  2. Select your business.

  3. Click on Get more reviews or Ask for reviews.

  4. Copy the review link provided (it usually looks like https://g.page/r/…/review).

  5. Paste this link into the Google Reviews settings in App Station.

No API keys or developer tools are required for this step.

Choosing an Engagement Milestone Trigger

You can set up the prompt to appear based on specific engagement milestones. Choose from the following triggers:

  • Favorites: Number of recipes favorited.

  • Streak: Days of continuous engagement.

  • Content Completed: Number of completed content pieces.

  • Recipes Rated: Number of recipes rated by the member.

Set the threshold for each trigger to determine when the prompt will appear.

Customizing the Prompt Title and Message

You have the option to customize the title and message that members will see when prompted for a review:

  • The default title is “Enjoying {appName}?” You can personalize this by using the placeholder {appName} to include your app's name.

  • You can also add a custom message to further engage your members.

The available placeholders will show your app name in the admin UI for easy reference.

Prompt Display Rules

  • Each member will only receive one prompt after they have interacted with the app at least three times in a session.

  • The prompt will follow a two-step flow:

    • Step 1: Members will be asked if they are enjoying the app.

      • Positive response leads to the Google review link.

      • Negative response allows for private feedback while keeping the review link visible.

    • Step 2: Depending on the response, members will either be directed to leave a review or provide feedback.

Review Feedback Management

You can view member feedback through the Review Feedback page:

  1. Navigate to App Station > Member Interactions > Review Feedback.

  2. Here, you will find summary cards showing total prompts shown, accepted responses, feedback given, and dismissed prompts.

  3. The feedback is read-only, allowing you to analyze member sentiment without editing or deleting responses.

Important Considerations

  • Members who have scheduled subscription cancellations will not receive the review prompt.

  • Admins always have access to all features, including the ability to view feedback regardless of access levels.
