Platform 2 Guide — This article applies to the new platform. Looking for classic platform docs? Browse the Platform 1 collection.
Why: Enhance your app's visibility and attract new subscribers by using locked content teasers. This feature allows potential members to see a sneak peek of your content while encouraging them to sign up or upgrade their access.
Navigate: App Station > Site Structure > Content Layouts > Locked Content Teaser
Quick Start
Open App Station and go to Site Structure.
Click on Content Layouts.
Select the detail template you want to edit.
Click on Locked Content Teaser in the sidebar.
Choose the blocks you want to display in the teaser view.
WHAT GUESTS SEE
When guests visit locked members-only pages, they see a teaser preview of the content. This includes a brief description and options to sign up or upgrade their membership. This approach helps convert visitors into subscribers by showcasing the value of your content.
SAME PREVIEW FOR SEARCH
Guests and search engines see the same teaser preview, which acts as a soft paywall. This means that even though the content is locked, it can still be discovered through search engines. However, any content assigned to specific members remains private and is not indexed.
HOW TO CONFIGURE BLOCKS
To configure which blocks appear in the teaser:
Navigate to App Station > Site Structure > Content Layouts.
Open the detail template you want to edit.
Click on Locked Content Teaser.
Check the blocks you want to include, such as header, media, and ingredients.
WHY SUMMARY IS CRITICAL
Each recipe or meal plan should have a unique Summary. Without it, search snippets may default to a generic site tagline, making every recipe look the same in search results. A well-crafted Summary helps each item stand out, improving visibility and engagement.
HOW TO WRITE A SUMMARY
Write 1-2 unique sentences that highlight the benefits of the recipe or meal plan. Include what’s in the dish and a brief example. For instance, "Enjoy a quick and healthy pasta dish packed with fresh vegetables and protein."
CHOOSING TEASER BLOCKS
When selecting blocks for your teaser, consider the following:
Header/Meta/Image: A safe default that provides essential information.
Ingredients: Including this shows more in search results, making your content more appealing.
Instructions: If you select Instructions without the Ingredients list, the amounts will still appear inline within the steps.
PUBLIC VS MEMBERS VS ASSIGNED
Public: Full page visible to everyone.
Members: Teaser SEO with a paywall for content.
Assigned: Content is completely private and not indexed for SEO.
TIP
Use Public visibility for a few flagship recipes to attract attention. For your paid library, use Members visibility with strong teasers and summaries to entice potential subscribers.
